Most abrasion resistant materials are composed of SBR, natural rubber or a combination of each. These special service materials are compounded specifically to provide greater wear and tear reisitance.

SBR compounds give good abrasion and tear resistance for medium to severe applications. Natural rubber, because of its inherent strength, can be compounded to provide even a greater abrasion resistance than SBR. Applications for abrasive resistant rubber include skirtboard, conveyer belt wipers, shakers, chutes and chute linings.
